About the wine
The winemaker from the Italian winery San Leonardo has absolutely mastered his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the picturesque and fertile Trentino landscape. Tasting note
Very dark crimson. Noble and deep nose: Cassis fruit mixed with vegetable aromas and a light smoky taste. Very complex, fruity on the palate, followed by spicy wood aromas. The finish is long and impressive - a wine with great dignity and elegance.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with meat dishes, noble poultry and especially with duck.
Vinification
The grapes (average age 10 to 25 years) are harvested by hand and strictly selected. Fermentation in large wooden vats, followed by a 6-month aging in Slavonian oak barrels (60 hl). The wine is then aged for 24 months in new and one to two year old French barriques and a further 8 months in the bottle.
