About the wine
The winemaker from the French winery Domaine François Crochet has absolutely mastered his craft. Elegance and refinement are the characteristics of this white wine, which originates in the sunny and fertile Loire countryside. This provocative Sauvignon Blanc 2017 — Sancerre AC is, in the truest sense of the word, a hit right down to the last drop! Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Sauvignon Blanc with goat cheese or fish.
Tasting note
On the nose, Sancerre impresses with typical aromas of gooseberries and a slightly grassy note. On the palate, characterized by a distinctive acidity that is very well integrated and which also gives the wine its freshness. Highly mineral and long-lasting on the finish. A price hammer in this category.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with aperitif, fish, seafood, oysters and asparagus.
Vinification
The wine is vinified according to the so-called Macération Froide. However, the must is left on the mash for about 3 days at very low temperatures before it is gently pressed and the must is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. As a result, additional flavor components are extracted from the grape skins. The result is very precise, sustainable wines that have a distinctive acid structure, as they have also not undergone any biological acid degradation.
