Satellit Stammersdorfer Gemischter Satz 2022 - Weinbau Jutta Ambrositsch

About the wine

While Vienna is still sleeping, Jutta, the metropolis's favorite winemaker, flees from her apartment in the 3rd district to the vines on the northern edge of the city. Her parents also grew wine, among other things, but this passed her by without a trace. Instead, she went into advertising and worked as a graphic designer. Winemaking began as a hobby, autodidactically, first at home on Eisenberg (Burgenland), but soon she was able to lease vineyards in Vienna's 19th and 21st districts. Viennese viticulture has a long tradition and is closely intertwined with the wine tavern culture. There are at least 600 ha of vineyards within the city limits, which may by law be used exclusively for viticulture. The mixed set is also a tradition: up to 20 or more (white) varieties are mixed in colors in the same vineyard and must be harvested and vinified at the same time. The largest proportion of varieties must not exceed 50% - the third largest but not less than 10% in the blend. The result is full-bodied yet fresh, complex, unique wines.

Tasting note
According to Marco Kalchbrenner: a dazzlingly cheerful Miss Piggy from old Stammersdorf vineyards. So to speak. There is yellow fruit, orange fruit, there is fabric and length, honey, herbs, in short: the satellite stands for Central French rubber boots rather than northeast European stilettos. Bisamberg with beret.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpost team is recommended with goat cheese, truffles and soft cheese.
Vinification
Some of the vines are farmed organically or using an IP (integrated production) approach. Jutta does all the work that she can do herself by hand. Friendly winemakers help with tractor work. The wines are fermented spontaneously and aged in steel tanks.
