Tasting note
“Wine is our discipline, sparkling wine is our showpiece.” Since the 1990s, the VDP winery Barth has been sparkling itself — the quality is no accident, but results from intensive work in the vineyard and in the cellar. All sparkling wines are sparkling according to the traditional method, classic bottle fermentation. 100% aromatic Pinot Noir grapes, selected by hand. After a long period of maceration to extract the red color from the peel skin, the grapes are gently pressed. Sparkling after traditional bottle fermentation, matured on the lees for at least 36 months, hand-shaken and disgorged. The BARTH Pinot Noir brut red sparkling wine is a rarity! Red sparkling wine is difficult to vinify, but Barth also succeeds excellently in this sparkling wine — so it is pleasantly soft and retains the berry note of the Pinot Noir. Ideal with beef tenderloin or grilled meat in summer or chocolate cake and Christmas cookies in winter time!
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: The organic sparkling wine tastes best at a slightly chilled 6°-8°C. The following period is the ideal enjoyment phase of this wine: Now until 2025. Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: Sekt Pinot Noir Rotsekt brut goes perfectly with crustaceans, aperitifs and oysters.
Vinification
The grapes were picked exclusively selectively by hand and vinified after the most gentle pressing. Traditional bottle fermentation, yeast maturation for at least 36 months.
