Shiraz «Lodge Hill» 2017 - Jim Barry Wines

About the wine

Jim Barry has significantly shaped Australia's wine history. It is thanks to his commitment and community spirit that the Clare Valley wine region is now known as one of Australia's best. Jim Barry was one of the first certified oenologists in the region. Together with his wife Nancy, he bought the first vineyards in the north of the Clare Valley in 1959. Nancy and their sons Peter, Mark and John contributed a lot to the success of the company. Peter has been Managing Director since 1985 and now runs the winery together with his children Tom (cellar master), Sam (Commercial Manager) and Olivia (Brand Ambassador). With the Armagh, Jim Barry has achieved a remarkable feat, this wine achieved cult status after just a short time! Although larger quantities of this plant could be sold, strictly limited quantities are still adhered to today.

Tasting note
On the nose, strong aromas of red and black berries, violets, clove spice and mixed garden herbs. The palate is dominated by a lively berry fruit, which is framed by fine tannins. In the finish, juicy plum and blackberry aromas are retained, with sweet spice at the end.
