About the wine
Castello di Fonterutoli, located in the middle of the Chianti Classico, has been owned by the Mazzei family for almost 600 years and has grown over the centuries to a fantastic 650 ha farm, including 100 ha of vineyards. The Mazzei family attaches great importance to their very important cultural heritage, but they also know from history that you have to keep up with the times. They are wines with a clear signature and origin that are happy to shake hands with both connoisseurs and laymen.

Tasting note
A single-vineyard wine, a “cru” made from a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot grapes, which come from the homonymous single vineyard, which, thanks to its distinctive pedo climatic characteristics, gives this wine a great structure and a unique and unique character.
Culinary recommendation
Sumptuous, elaborate dishes, stewed meat, blue cheese.
Vinification
Selective reading by hand. Two to three weeks of maceration time, temperature-controlled fermentation, maturation for 18 months in predominantly new, small French oak barrels (225l).
