About the wine
Rainer Sauer is considered the master of the Silvaner. In order to produce expressive plants with a lot of temperament, he gives his wines plenty of rest and time at all stages of their creation process. His son Daniel works as a cellar master in the winery and stands for the next generation of the successful winegrowing family. In 2011, he was named Young Winemaker of the Year 2011 by the DLG.
Tasting note
Medium lemon yellow, wonderfully precise and straight Silvaner with mineral intensity and a crystalline texture on the palate.
Vinification
After manual harvesting, the selected grapes are subjected to a maceration period of 72 hours. It is then gently pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks before the wine is bottled after a short storage period.
