Syrah L'enfer de la Patience AOC 2020 - Histoire d'Enfer

About the wine

Founded only in 2007 and already on everyone's lips, already offering the best Swiss wine (wine newspaper 2011) and other praise and laurels wherever you look. And as is so often the case, it is special people who are behind the success, in particular Dr. Régamey, a doctor, mind you and also blessed with exceptional sensory and analytical skills. Together with his friends Alexandre Challand and James Paget, in Corin-sur-Sierre in Valais, he is inspired and obsessed with even the smallest details; nothing, but nothing at all, is treated carelessly or regarded as secondary. And so around 20 different wines are vinified from just 7 ha of prime locations managed according to biodynamic principles, each in only the smallest quantities. It is the subtle differences, the characteristics of the vineyards and vines, which are finely and precisely worked out here, as usual only in Burgundy; there is hardly any new wood there. It is a pleasure, a wonderful pleasure and an asset to compare Historie d'Enfer wines, such as Pinot Noir. Precise, aesthetic, passionate and demanding, and yet each individual individual and with special features. Great characters who are undoubtedly among the best things that originate in Switzerland! Name or not Histoire d'Enfer You're in wine heaven!

Tasting note
Pursue strictness and hidden passions. Distressed, strict character, initially reserved, controlled, wait-and-see, very dark fruit, blackcurrant, lots of undergrowth, ash, peat, appears closed, then brightens up a bit, fresh notes, increasingly pleasurable, hinting at the animalistic, sweet passions, but never releasing, continuous play to control desire and urges. On the palate, serious nobility, stature and format, fresh dark, restrained yet sweet, passionate fruit, ethereal spice again, is tart and masculine, and yet also has passionate, soft features. Wonderfully complex and precise Syrah, currently still restrained, but will soon come out of its own accord.
