Some grapes, such as Tavkveri, are only planted out of passion for quality. It is not economical to plant Tavkveri, as this grape variety is very difficult and the yield is very low. However, since the result is so brilliantly beguiling, the Kapistoni family does it anyway. Aromas of ripe cherries, red berries and marzipan, plus a slight smokiness. The freshness of Tavkveri is nicely balanced with the strong but accessible tannins. Only 8,500 bottles were produced.
