Teroldego Granato IGT 2021 - Foradori

About the wine

Elisabetta Foradori and Rainer Zierock have always been a moment ahead of their time. At a time when the entire wine world looked at the grape varieties described as international, such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and honored them, all their attention wine was considered among the European plants. In 2002, the move Zamkeit followed the Teroldego native to Trentino. At their winery, which has existed since 1901 and was owned by the Foradori family in 1939, they worked on a mass teroldego selection as early as 1985. Just one year later, they pressed the first “granato”. To date, an Ik of biodynamic viticulture, certified since 2009. Emilio, Theo and Myrtha continue and develop their parents' work today. Together with their mother, Elisabetta, they are working on an operating concept back to a partly mixed business like in the past. Always operating in the cycle of nature, always ahead of its time.

Tasting note
Opium - Something dark, comforting, sinking has this depth, joy and density in this wine. There is something sublime about him. The nose smells like Christmas, with cardamom, cloves and cinnamon. Quinces and cranberries come and go. The length is brutal, in the finale he is harsh, with something medicinal. Incredibly versatile, incredibly intense, with an unbelievable amount of potential.
Vinification
Selective reading by hand. Fermented slowly and naturally in open tanks, without any outside influence, aged for 15 months in large wooden barrels.
