Terrasse Du Diable Gigondas AOP 2020 - Domaine Les Pallières

About the wine

The Bruniers are leading quality winemakers in the heart of the southern Rhône and have magnificent terroirs in Châteauneuf (Vieux Télégraphe) and Gigondas. Daniel and Frédéric Brunier are great advocates of traditional, long aging in large barrels, so-called fuders, which gives a pure range of aromas great complexity. The Domaine Pallières, which is wonderfully situated at higher altitudes on ochre rock slopes near Gigondas, produces a monumental, powerful wine from the “Terraces of the Devil”, which develops great complexity as it matures and reveals a soul-warming Provence range of spices. From old vines around 50 years old.

Tasting note
In the heart of the southern Rhône, the Brunier family owns two wineries with magnificent terroirs in Châteauneuf-du-Pape with the Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe and in Gigondas with Domaine Les Pallières. Daniel and Frédéric Brunier are great advocates of traditional, long aging in large barrels, so-called fuders, which gives a pure range of aromas great complexity. The Domaine Les Pallières vineyards are wonderfully situated at higher altitudes on ochre rock slopes. The Terrasse du Diable vines (mainly Grenache) have a high average age of around 45 years and produce a monumental, powerful yet elegant wine. As it matures, it develops great complexity and a soul-warming Provence spice palette is revealed.
