About the wine

The winery received its name in 1704, when the owners returned from an exhausting trip from Cape Town, where they sold their wine, and found all their belongings destroyed by fire. Everything seemed lost... The winery has been owned by the Malan family since 1872. Danie Malan runs the winery in the fifth generation.

Tasting note
Very dark color. Ripe fruit on the nose with a spicy vanilla note from fine oak wood. Medium-bodied, balanced and very tasty.
