Trebbiano d'Abruzzo DOC 2019 - Emidio Pepe

About the wine

And rightly so: The king of Abruzzo and his kingdom are permanent. Emidio Pepe in the 3rd generation has been managing the winery with his daughters for decades and today. The skill and long-term success with which he rules over his 15-hectare area is testified not only by the many stories, legends, hymns and prizes, but above all by his wines, which are often still a revelation 50 years after the harvest and have proven what is possible in Abruzzo in the first place. From a king who loves his country organic and biodynamic farming (certified in 2009) for decades and largely dispensing with machinery!

Tasting note
Higher being. Appears literally in the glass and rises like a good spirit, with warm and unshakable peace, yellow fruit, light tones, creamy, warm chilli aromas, breath-taking, still, deep. Floating on the palate, with high aromatic density, reminiscent of nectar and fresh cloudy apple juice (with Polish vodka!) , a touch of cinnamon, warm radiance, fulfilling, creamy minerality, still floating, long. Very great wine with an almost divine appearance!
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpost team is recommended for poultry, vegetable rice and Asian noodle pans.
Vinification
Very selective reading by hand. The whole grapes are gently crushed with the feet in large wooden vats for 40-45 minutes, followed by spontaneous fermentation with the vineyard's own yeasts of the juice squeezed in this way in cement tanks, which have been in use since the beginning of 1964, where the wine remains until the second spring after harvesting. Bottling unfiltered, unembellished, unsulphurated.
