About the wine
Wonderful and fertile landscapes in Umbria give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Falesco conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. If you're looking for something special, then you can't miss out on this distinctive Merlot 2014 — Trentanni IGP. The Flaschenpöstler guarantee a culinary experience when you offer this Merlot with slightly spicy red meat or poultry.
Tasting note
Deep ruby with purple reflections. Tightly woven on the nose, full of character and distinctive in aroma. There are aromas of sour cherries, plum compote, warm spicy components, mon chéri, some forest soil and ethereal notes. Rich on the palate yet elegant. With a firm texture, and perfectly balanced and integrated acidity. The aromas of the nose are repeated. Long, mild but very aromatic aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with homemade lasagna.
Vinification
The wine, which was launched for the first time in 2009, was — as its name says — created specifically to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Falesco winery, founded in 1979 by Renzo and Riccardo Cotarella. Merlot is harvested at the beginning of September and for Sangiovese at the end of September. The grapes are macerated in stainless steel for approx. 15 days. The alcoholic fermentation also takes place in stainless steel. After fermentation is complete, the young wine ages in barriques for twelve months.
