About the wine

Not a story, a fairy tale. In this bewitchingly beautiful and hot valley, winegrowers used to only grow grapes for the large port wine producers with hard work but little passion until Dirk van Niepoort arrived. With his bold idea of founding a kind of cooperative with numerous winegrowers and processing the grapes into independent wines that reflect their origin with an excellent team, he has awakened the Douro Valley from deep sleep. Since 1999, the Lavradores de Feitoria community has produced remarkable and astonishingly cheap wines year after year.
