Trittenheimer Apotheke Riesling Spätlese Goldstückchen QmP 2021 - F.J. Eifel

About the wine

Treat yourself to the senses with the fine Trittenheimer Apotheke Riesling Spätlese Goldstückchen QmP from 2015! The winemaker from the German winery F.J. Eifel is absolutely proficient in his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this white wine, which originates in the picturesque landscape of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region.

Tasting note
The Gault & Millau wine guide writes about the piece of gold: The Spätlese are strong as always, led by a magnificent piece of gold with crystal-clear and abysmal fruit. As if cut from one piece, this is the most refined wine in the collection. Compared to normal late harvest, the piece of gold does not look sweeter, as you might expect, but more complex and spicy. It is a noble sweet highlight with strong slate spice, lots of exotic fruit like pineapple, lychee and light herbal notes. On the palate, the perfect balance of fruit and acidity, the complex and profoundly exotic aromas and the almost saline minerality impress. A vibrant wine full of mineral energy.
Culinary recommendation
Wonderful for pure enjoyment, with aromatic starters, terrines, Asian dishes, cheese specialties
Vinification
The grapes for the gold piece come from around 80-100-year-old vines from the steepest terraces of the Trittenheimer Apotheke. Of course, the reading is done by hand. The wine is vinified and aged as described above. The result is a special class Riesling with low alcohol, a residual sweetness of 81g/l and an acidity of 9.7 g/l. By the way, the Eifel winery is certified organic and all work steps are carried out by hand.
