About the wine
With the biting white wine 2016 — Trittenheimer Apotheke Riesling Spatlese Alte Reben, nuances and accents are redefined. Picturesque landscapes of the Moselle-Saar-Ruwer region give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the German winery F.J. Eifel conjures up this white wine with refinement and sensitivity. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Riesling is excellent to serve with duck or mushrooms.
Tasting note
A top-class Riesling. On the nose, the aromas of dried apples, citrus fruits and peaches inspire. Slightly vegetal notes and a yeast tone combine very well with the fruit. On the palate, the wine again captivates with strong aromas of stone fruit and citrus with a present, lively acidity and light tannins. Plenty of bite on the palate with a mineral note and a delicately fruity, spicy finish.

Vinification
The grapes for this Riesling grow on the steepest slopes of the Trittenheimer Apotheke. It is not uncommon for roping to be necessary during the work steps in the vineyard due to the steepness. Of course, the harvest is done by hand. The wine is vinified and aged with spontaneous yeast in Mosel-Fuder. Only fully ripe late harvested grapes are used for the late harvest.
