About the wine
With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the French winery Domaine de l'Hortus masters this white wine in the sunny landscape of Languedoc-Roussillon. The dominant Chardonnay 2018 — Val de Montferrand IGP Hortus Grande Cuvée Blanc is the missing piece of the puzzle in your wine rack. Flaschenpost team tip: Combine this Chardonnay with goat cheese or fish with herbs.
Tasting note
Citrus aromas, pineapple and herbs are present on the nose. On the palate, it is fresh, fruity with a salty minerality.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with aperitif, saltwater fish, seafood and soft cheese.
Vinification
A blend of Petit Manseng, Sauvignon Gris, Viognier and Chardonnay. The Chardonnay grapes are aged for 8 months in 228 liter oak barrels. Viognier matures in vats for the same amount of time.
