About the wine
The winemaker from the Italian winery Bindella - Vallocaia masters this red wine with sensitivity and intuition in the blooming and fertile landscape of Tuscany. With this outstanding Sangiovese 2013 — Vallocaia Riserva Vino Nobile di Montepulciano docg, the term taste takes on a new meaning. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Sangiovese with beef or pasta.

Tasting note
Intense ruby red with purple reflections. The nose is concentrated and complex. With intense notes of ripe, dark berries. This is accompanied by phenolic aromas, a pinch of forest soil and warm spices. Dense on the palate, with robust but finely honed tannins. Plums, wild cherries. The structure is distinctive, strong, with generous length. Mediterranean herbal aromas in the finale.
Culinary recommendation
Whatever it is, it must be grilled! In addition, the Vallocaia develops its Mediterranean herbal aroma.
Vinification
We only press the best grapes, mainly from our oldest vineyards, for this Riserva. After temperature-controlled fermentation in steel tanks for 24 months, partly in 3 hl tonneaus and partly in 50 hl French oak barrels. After barrel storage, it is aged in bottles for one year before the Vallocaia Riserva goes on sale.
