Valpolicella Pojega Ripasso 2021 - Guerrieri Rizzardi

About the wine

The family's winegrowing dates back to the 17th century, especially in Valpolicella Classico in Veneto, where it began in addition to the wonderful historic gardens in Pojega, plus the large vineyards in Bardolino (where the new winery is located), Soave & Adige. It has been known long and wide that size is not synonymous with quantity but with quality. The honors and tributes not only to the wines are numerous, but the family members have also already been honored by the Italian State for their great services! The wines have a greatness, a mature elegance and personality that is second to none, personalities that delight, give a lot but can also challenge, great wines!

Tasting note
Southern bon vivant. Casual, self-evident elegance and lots of bright charm. Warm elegance, sweet, ripe red, brown fruit, like casual dresses and slippers, plus this beautiful complexion, this healthy, herbal freshness and masculine, dark tart notes, ash, wonderfully radiates a bright zest for life. On the palate, masculine charm, soft and tart, beautiful ripe, rich, sweet fruit, tart, fresh elegance, plenty of tannins, plus anise, licorice, here too with a relaxed, self-evident and self-confident attitude, with lots of sweet charm at the end, sweet chestnuts. Wonderful ripasso, a southern, elegant charmer!
Vinification
Selective reading and sorting by hand. Short maceration of the destemmed berries, temperature-controlled fermentation in steel tanks, re-fermentation of the unpressed grape skins of the winery's Amarone wines. Ageing for 12 months in French oak barrels.
