About the wine

After studying oenology in Milan, the two genuine and somewhat crazy Valtellinesi Davide Fasolini and Pierpaolo Di Franco founded the Dirupi winery in 2004. In order to realize their dream of the perfect Nebbiolo, the two 3-hectare vineyards took over existing vineyards in the steepest slopes of Valtellina, which are divided into an incredible 18 plots. In the same year, they were able to launch their first vintage with 1600 bottles on the market. Today, they produce around 35,000 bottles and are still absolute micro-producers.
