Bodegas Alto MoncayoRed wine | 75cl15.514°-16°CGarnacha
Grosser Peñin: 94/100
Tasting note
A full-bodied garnet red wine with an elegant bouquet of blackberry, cherry and chocolate. The palate is fruity-spicy, with some licorice notes complementing the berry aromas. Smooth tannins, a pleasant freshness and its soft, very full and harmonious body as well as its long finish make this wine a lasting pleasure.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef with light sauces, lamb with dark sauces.
Vinification
Information on vinification: Slow fermentation and long extraction in stainless steel tanks, aging and maturation in French and American oak barriques for 16 months. All three wines from the bodega - Veraton, Alto Moncayo and Aquilon - are aged in French and American oak barriques and bottled unfiltered. This small portfolio is the reference for red wines from Aragon and is one of the best Garnachas in Spain. Such dense, concentrated drops with overwhelming fruit aromas and elegance that Robert Parker catapulted these underdog wines into the world elite as the best in the region with top ratings of up to 96/100 points in the premiere vintage.
