Vigna d'Alceo IGT 2012 - Castello dei Rampolla

About the wine

There is always something left over from Christmas dinner. Do you know that? Why not invite your friends for a glass of wine in the afternoon to enjoy the festive meal again and we recommend this powerful Cabernet Sauvignon 2012. Fertile and blooming landscapes of Tuscany give us these grapes, which the winemaker from the Italian winery Castello dei Rampolla uses with refinement and experience conjures up this red wine. Flaschenpost team tip: Combine this Cabernet Sauvignon with Gruyère burgers or red meat.

Tasting note
The di Napoli-Rampolla family is one of the long-established landowners of Tuscany. However, they have only been involved in viticulture since 1967, long enough to be among the pioneers and pioneers of the new Chianti Classico. Alceo di Napoli was the first in the Chianti area to plant the Bordeaux grape Cabernet Sauvignon in order to press new wines on the one hand, but also to give traditional Chianti a new dimension. The last vineyard still planted by Alceo di Napoli (1990) is located on the top of the hill, fully oriented to the south. The peculiarity of this vineyard lies, on the one hand, in the selection of varieties, namely Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) with Petit Verdot and, on the other hand, in the density of the planting: More than 10,000 vines are crowded on one hectare, but each vine bears only about 350 g of grapes, which gives them an incomparable concentration. The wine, which is unparalleled in its monumental abundance, is accordingly.
