About the wine
Antinori is undoubtedly the biggest name in Tuscan viticulture. The wine dynasty from Florence is now led by the 26th generation and shapes Italian wine. The Chianti Classico Riserva is a true classic!
Tasting note
Intense ruby red with purple reflections. Remarkably clear and precise on the nose. Ripe red cherries, blackberries, warm spices, some peppermint, leather, chocolate and smoke, accompanied by elegant wood notes. Rich and balanced on the palate. Good quality polished tannins Soft, finesse and juicy structure. The aromas of the nose are also visible on the palate. In the finish with wonderful complexity and sustainability.
Culinary recommendation
Mediterranean meat dishes such as beef stew with polenta go particularly well with this riserva.
Vinification
New to the Villa Antinori line since the 2011 vintage - the noble Villa Antinori Chianti classico docg Riserva. The grapes — 90% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon — come exclusively from the family-owned vineyards around Siena. After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed, gently pressed and fermented in steel tanks at a temperature below 30°C for twelve days. By the end of the year, the young wine has completed its malolactic fermentation and is aged for 24 months in French, American and Slavonian barriques.
