About the wine
Antinori is undoubtedly the biggest name in Tuscan viticulture. The family from Florence has been shaping Italian wine for as many as 26 generations. After Piero Antinori created the first Super Tuscan with the Tignanello, he sets new standards in terms of quality and shapes Bolgheri's success story. Antinori's popular Bolgheri “Il Bruciato” is an excellent representative of Maremma, with lots of regional character and at a fair price!
Tasting note
Rich ruby with purple reflections. Pleasant, almost beguiling nose with notes of cassis, ripe cherries, some vanilla, nougat and dried herbs. Very smooth and medium-dense on the palate, with bright aromas of ripe berries, sour cherries, fine wood and warm spices. The finely polished tannins and the long aftertaste make Villa Antinori a “little Supertuscan”.
Culinary recommendation
The red one for every occasion: goes well with pasta, polenta and pizza as well as with veal schnitzel with sage or meat dishes with sauce.
Vinification
After harvesting, the grapes — all from our own production — are destemmed, gently pressed and fermented in steel tanks at a temperature below 30°C for twelve days. By the end of the year, the young wine has completed malolactic fermentation and is aged for twelve months in French, American and Slavonian barriques. The wine is then left in the bottle for at least eight months before being sold.
