About the wine
The winery can look back on an eventful history. But it wasn't until Jens Reidel and Christine Dinse took over the estate in 2009, made Karsten Peter cellar master and turned everything upside down that they resumed the brilliant times of the 1960s to 80s. The estate only owns large plants and there is hardly a winery in Germany that has such an abundance and variety of top locations. Even the entry-level Riesling shows unequivocally that this potential is being fully exploited. This is no longer a secret and Gut Hermannsberg is overwhelmed with lots of praise, points and awards.
Tasting note
Hero figure - distinguished, agitated, like Tannhäuser on Venusberg, seemingly peace, meadows and herbs, yet so auspicious the barely comprehensible, diverse tempting fruit, exotic and berries, rich, instinctive, the tart freshness, bright excitement over the volcano, mineral, smoky, flint - here you can eat yourself. On the palate, this size, tension, this turbulent abundance, so mineral, tart, struggles and finds inner peace, ripe, orange fruit, distant warmer tones, banish the distinctively tart, fresh energy. What a Riesling, daring and so distinguished and sublime in the end.
