About the wine
Abadía da Cova is a small family business in the Ribeira Sacra, in northwest Spain. The sunny slopes along the two rivers Miño and Sil consist of centuries-old terraces, many of which date back to Roman times. Today, the winery is run by Paloma and Adrián Rodriquez and José Moure in the fourth generation. Since 2018, they have been supported by experienced oenologist Nacho Álvarez. Her firm conviction and guiding principle: In addition to the country from which it originates, a wine should also reflect the year in which it was forged and shaped.
Tasting note
Intense, lively garnet red. On the nose, aromas of sweet cherries and ripe black fruits. On the palate, nuances of coffee, tobacco and mountain herbs. A spicy wine with ripe tannins and an elegant finish. Steep slopes on the Minho River. Production of only 1000 bottles.
Vinification
In 400 liter oak barriques. The wine was not brightened and filtered.
