About the wine
Treat your family and friends over Christmas dinner with this provocative red wine 2017 — Yarden Merlot. The wine-growing areas of the Israeli winery Golan Heights extend across the landscapes where the experienced winemaker produces this red wine. The Flaschenpöstler guarantee a culinary experience when you serve this Merlot with duck or poultry.
Tasting note
The “Yarden Merlot” shows notes of ripe red and black fruits as well as nuances of orange peel, soil and fresh herbs. This classic Merlot is an excellent example of the exceptional quality of Merlot grapes grown on the Golan Heights. It is full-bodied, rich and aromatic.
Culinary recommendation
Combine the wine with a rack of lamb glazed with it, braised beef ribs or various root vegetables.
Vinification
A “Yarden Merlot” is made from grapes that come from certified sustainable vineyards on the central and northern Golan Heights. In the course of over three decades, the highest quality Merlot grapes have been planted in this area. The wine ages for 18 months in small French oak barrels, of which around 40% are new.
