About the wine
Bodega Amalaya is a winery in Cafayate and belongs to Bernese wine pioneer Donald Hess. The winery is known for excellent vineyards in the Calchaqui Valley, the highest wine-growing region in the world. The vineyards are located in an actual desert, so we have a fascinating interplay between hot days and cold nights. “Amalaya” means “hope for a miracle” in the language of the local Indians.
Tasting note
The bouquet of petrol, nectarine and pineapple shows a complex aroma character and plenty of pleasure potential. The striking nuances of apple, apricot and lime shape their individual texture. Slim body and outstanding acidity result in the white wine, which shows a lot of character and class in the mouth.
Culinary recommendation
Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: It goes well with mushrooms, Indian cuisine and prawns. The ideal enjoyment phase of this wine is in the following period: Now until 2020.
