About the wine
The success story of Rocche dei Manzoni begins in 1974, when Valentino and Jolanda Migliorini left their Michelin-starred restaurant and bought an 8th century farm in a prime location in Monforte d'Alba. With a great deal of passion and “lavoro da certosino”, the most intensive work, they turned this into a model whose reputation has become an integral part of the wine world. Their philosophy is the perfect combination of tradition and innovation. Rocche dei Manzoni now produces a range of high-quality wines, sparkling and dessert wines as well as grappes in five vineyards, which are famous all around.
Tasting note
A black-red wine with slight purple reflections, persistent, rich, balanced and fruity. Quite intense and varied aromas of cherry, plum, ripe wild berries and dried fruit (plum, fig, raisin) are complemented by coffee, caramel and smoke aromas as well as some leather and barn smell. On the palate, it is aromatic, very full-bodied and harmonious, and it intensely flatters the palate with its entire range of aromas before it is memorable with a long finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with pasta with meat, beef with dark sauces, grilled or fried & veal with dark sauces.
