About the wine
Blooming and fertile landscapes in Sicily give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Tasca d'Almerita conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. With the powerful Nerello 2016 — Contrada Sciaranuova V.V. Etna Rosso DOC, you can offer your family and friends something very special. Tasting note
Medium ruby red. On the nose, very clear and delicate aromas of blood orange, red fruits and sweet spices. Elegant and gentle on the palate, with an excellent balance of sweetness, acidity and tannins. The finish is very long and inspiring.
Culinary recommendation
Can be combined in many ways, whether pork tenderloin or rather an entrecote, the juiciness of this wine underlines many things wonderfully.
Vinification
The grapes for this wine come from the oldest vines in the “Sciaranuova” vineyard. After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and vinified at the nearby Tascante winery at the foot of Mount Etna. The young wine is aged for twelve months in 25 hl Slavonian oak barrels. The young wine is then aged in the bottle for a further eight months before it is sold.
