About the wine
It couldn't be more unusual — and it couldn't be more brilliant. Philippe Guigal, a highly talented oenologist, runs the winery founded by his grandfather Etienne in 1946 in the Côtes du Rhône. Everything is exceptional here: the location on steep slopes with their carved terraces and the barren soils through which the vines get their water from a depth of 15 meters. The Guigal s always get the most out of the grapes and terroir, which is reflected in the quality in small quantities. The aging takes place in barriques from the in-house coopery. They get top prices for these wines: single-vineyard wines such as La Mouline and La Turque sell for up to 700 francs. Guigal is the winery with the most wines awarded 100 points by Robert Parker.
