About the wine
The family's history began in 1954 when Emilio Fuselli, a farmer from the Marche region who had emigrated to Bolgheri in Tuscany, bought a piece of land from the Marquis Incisa della Rocchetta. The agricultural use of the land enabled him to build a house, the foundation of the family. After him, his son Aldo continued the business. He acquired additional land and began producing olive oil. But it was Maurizio who — after having gained 10 years of experience at the Antinori winery — took over the management of the business. He restructured it from the ground up and specialized it entirely in the production of wine. His great passion for the country, which he had inherited from grandfather Emilio, his stated goal of increasing quality, and his extensive knowledge of growing and producing wine enabled Maurizio to further hone his skills and finally set up the wine cellar: small but innovative and functional, with the intention of combining genuine tradition with advanced winemaking methods. The first harvest took place in 2003, with the “Emilio Primo “, so named in honor of the grandfather, who had inspired Maurizio and who had paved the way for him.
