About the wine
From a small, artisanal garage business to a top winery with worldwide cult status. The success story of a family from the picturesque town of Suvereto. More than thirty years ago, Rita Tua and Virgilio Bisti acquired the lands of today's Tua Rita winery to enjoy their pension in idyllic Suvereto in peace and quiet and pursue their passion — cultivating land. At this point, the couple was probably not yet aware of the fame their wines would achieve worldwide in just a few years. The Redigaffi 2000, a single-varietal Merlot, was the first wine in Italy to be awarded 100 out of 100 points by Robert Parker and Wine Spectator and is still considered one of the best Merlots ever. But this is far from over. The pure Syrah, the Bordeaux blend Giusto di Notri and the base wine Rosso dei Notri (a 50/50 blend of the typical Sangiovese grape with the international grapes Merlot, Cabernet and Syrah) are also excellent top wines. Despite cult status and worldwide fame, the winery remains true to its original ideals to this day and is continued by son-in-law Stefano Frascolla and daughter Simena.
