About the wine
Give yourself joy for the senses with the fine Humagne Rouge AOC Le Soleil d'Or from 2016! The nature of Valais can be described with such words as mountainous or hilly. However, the Swiss winery Imesch Vins is trying to express the beauty of its homeland with this red wine. We think he succeeded!
Tasting note
This Humagne rouge captivates with its blue-red robe with almost black reflections. Flattering scents of violets, dark berries and a little vanilla pamper the nose. On the palate, it is pithy and rich in tannins, again with lots of blackcurrant and velvety notes. A prime example of a top humagnes.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with pheasant, duck, chamois back, wild boar, goat cheese.
Vinification
The Humagne Rouge grape variety is a specialty that occurs exclusively in Valais and the Aosta Valley. It is very robust, high-yielding and late-ripening, so it needs south-facing slopes in the best locations to fully mature. A strict yield limit is also necessary to produce good quality wine.
