About the wine
Give yourself a treat for your senses with the fine Humagne Rouge AOC Le Soleil d'Or from 2016! You can describe the nature of Valais with words such as mountainous or hilly. However, the Swiss winery Imesch Vins is trying to express the beauty of its homeland with this red wine. We think he succeeded successfully!
Tasting note
This Humagne rouge impresses with its blue-red robe with almost black reflections. Flattering scents of violets, dark berries and a bit of vanilla pamper the nose. On the palate, it is pithy and rich in tannins, again with lots of black currant and velvety notes. A prime example of a top Humagne.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with pheasant, duck, chamois, wild boar, goat cheese.
Vinification
The Humagne Rouge grape variety is a specialty that is found exclusively in Valais and the Aosta Valley. It is very robust, high-yielding and late-ripe, so it needs south-facing slopes in prime locations to fully mature. A strict yield limit is also necessary to produce good quality wine.
