About the wine

The small, up-and-coming company Pietradolce focuses on local grape varieties and is becoming increasingly important. The winery from the Solicchiata area in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia, located directly on Mount Etna, has achieved cult status in a very short time. The winegrowers Michele and Mario Faro — both passionate wine collectors and known across national borders as florists — focus their work on the autochthonous grape varieties Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante.
