About the wine
SEI SOLO is a project that Javier Zaccagnini started in 2007 from four small vineyards — an oenological tribute to Johann Sebastian Bach's great opus, one of his favorite works. As former managing director of Bodegas AALTO, he worked quietly on his Duero, the wine that best suited his personal taste in terms of nuances, finesse and elegance.
Falstaff: Points
Tasting note
Dark purple. On the nose, aromatic red and black fruits, coconut, cocoa - as well as subtle roasted aromas. Velvety on the palate, with perfectly integrated acidity and soft tannins. Very good storage potential, but also a lot of fun at a young age.
Culinary recommendation
Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: Preludio de Sei Solo goes well with barbecue, polenta and lasagna.
Vinification
Vinified in 2500 liter foudre. After malolactic fermentation, each batch is transferred to 225-, 500- and 600-liter French barrels, which are aged from two to six years. The subsequent expansion will take place for 18 months. Finally, careful selection is used to decide which barriques are bottled as Sei Solo or Preludio.
