About the wine
With the powerful Pinot Gris 2021 — St. Michael Fallwind Pinot Grigio Alto Adige DOC, nuances and accents are redefined. The winemaker from the Italian winery Kellerei St-Michael has absolutely mastered his craft. Elegance and finesse are the characteristics of this white wine, which originates in the blooming and fertile landscape of South Tyrol. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Pinot Gris with ceviche or sea bass.
Tasting note
Pale yellow with a slight green tinge. Smells of ripe pear and honeydew melon. Creamy and round on the palate with an elegant structure and extreme elegance. The loamy limestone soils give Pinot Grigio a nice balance and a fine and crisp acidity that makes you want more.
Culinary recommendation
Passt gut zu Fisch und Fischsuppe, Perlhuhn-Brüstchen oder Kalbsfilet.
Vinification
Manual harvest and grape selection from early to mid-September. The majority (80%) is fermented in steel tanks, the rest (20%) in large wooden barrels followed by biological acid degradation. In March, the two wines are combined.
