Campo San Giorgio Conero docg Riserva 2018 - Umani Ronchi

About the wine

The powerful Montepulciano 2010 — Campo San Giorgio Conero docg Riserva is the missing piece of the puzzle in your wine rack. Blooming and fertile landscapes in the Marche region give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Umani Ronchi conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Culinary tip from Flaschenpöstler: This Montepulciano is ideal to be served with lamb or beef.

Umani RonchiRed wine | 75cl13.516°-18°CMontepulciano gives this wine its own character. The refreshing notes of red plum make for the playful taste.
Tasting note
Dark ruby red with purple reflections. Intense, complex and pleasantly scented on the nose. There are aromas of ripe cherries, dark berries, orange peel, cloves, some gingerbread spice and black bread, as well as fine toasted notes. Very complex on the palate and juicy, typical of the grape variety. With extremely finely polished tannins. The palate aromas contain a warm spice, cedarwood, in turn ripe black cherries and plums. The aftertaste is complex, robust and long.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with red meat, wild fowl and spicy cheese.
Vinification
The grapes for this wine come from the Campo San Giorgio vineyard in Osimo, which is only one hectare. After harvesting by hand, the grapes are immediately mashed. Fermentation takes place under temperature control in stainless steel tanks. The young wine is then aged for twelve months in new French barriques, then six months in large used wooden barrels and a further 10 months in the bottle. This excellent wine was pressed for the first time in 2009.
