Tasting note
The Gagliole Chianti Classico Riserva shines in intense ruby red with purple reflections. The nose features blackberry and blueberry, violet, nuances of licorice and Mediterranean herbs. From the very first sip, this wine exudes energy, supported by the density of the soft tannins and lively acidity, and leads to a finish full of mineral impressions, which echoes graphite. A wine that is ready to be enjoyed thanks to its balanced components and the fruity properties typical of a young wine. But as with every major Chianti Classico Riserva, the great potential is obvious.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with starters, dark poultry, hard cheeses as well as steak and sophisticated pasta dishes.
Vinification
The selected grapes were vinified in tempered stainless steel containers. Thanks to the high quality of the peels, the maceration period could be extended to 30 days, which allowed the grape juice to absorb the precious substances from the skins in a completely natural and gentle way. After straining, the grape must remained in contact with the Trub wine and went through malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. It has now been aged for 10 months in small used oak barrels until the final assemblage. This was followed by further expansion for 5 months in natural cement tanks and finally bottling.
