A Japanese idealist and Tuscan winemaking based on organic principles: How much longer will Bulichella remain a hot-trade secret tip? The Bulichella winery is located just under a kilometer outside the village of Suvereto, and its vineyards border directly on those of Tua Rita. Bulichella is owned by Japanese Miyakawa Hideyuki, who settled in Suvereto with his Italian wife Maria Luisa many years ago and invested in vineyards and wineries for Alessandro Bonaguidi's family. The excellent single-varietal Merlot was therefore christened “Maria Shizuko” in honor of the owner's wife who died early. The extremely friendly Alessandro Bonaguidi cultivates Bulichella according to biodynamic principles and uses both the traditional Tuscan varieties Sangiovese and Vermentino, as well as the classic Bordeaux varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot.
