About the wine
If you're looking for something special, then don't miss out on this powerful Shiraz 2021 — Crozes-Hermitage Buveur dargile AC. The wine-growing areas of the French winery Domaine Julien Pilon extend across the landscapes of the Côtes du Rhône, where the experienced winemaker produces this red wine. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this shiraz with venison or barbecue.
Tasting note
The Crozes-Hermitage appears in a dark purple-red color. On the nose, intense aromas of black berries, blackberries, elderberries, olives and sweet-spicy accents inspire. On the palate, the wine is dense and full-bodied with charming black fruit aromas, some licorice, juicy acidity, velvety tannins and a sweet-spicy finish. A Syrah that is a lot of fun to drink from a young age but also has great maturation potential.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with roast veal, venison, entrecote, lamb and grilled dishes.
Vinification
This Crozes-Hermitage is Julien Pilon's “youngest child” and comes from more southern vineyards. The vines are rooted here on red clay soils with lots of gravel and some granite. After harvesting by hand, the grapes are completely destemmed. Malolactic fermentation and aging take place in French barriques for approx. 10 months.
