Taittinger is one of the largest and most prestigious champagne houses. It was founded in 1734, but it has borne its current name only since 1931, when it was taken over by the Taittinger family. Over the years, it has built its outstanding reputation for quality and elegance.

In the late 1970s, Elisabetta Geppetti decided to swap university lecture halls for vineyards, wine cellars and rubber boots. Full of drive, the young woman transformed the farm of her father-in-law Fredi into a modern quality winery. Today, Fattoria Le Pupille is among the elite of Italian wine, its «Saffredi» is undisputedly one of the icons of Belpaese and is mentioned in the same breath as supertuscans such as Sassicaia, Luce or Solaia. The mother of five is affectionately called «Signora del Morellino». She played a decisive role in making the local variety of Sangiovese - Morellino di Scansano - internationally known. Today, Elisabetta Geppetti's wines can be enjoyed in restaurants on four continents of the world.

The history of the winery is an example of the success of a passionate winemaker and her contribution to the development of the Tuscan wine world.

The cool climate and the limestone soils in the county of Kent offer conditions similar to those in Champagne. Excellent sparkling wines are therefore also the flagship of the booming wine region. Richard and Leslie Balfour-Lynn founded their winery back in 2002 and are among the pioneers.
