About the wine

Easter 2019 is just around the corner! Make the most of it with this powerful white wine 2017 — Just White Chardonnay Special Edition DAC Weinviertel! You can describe the landscape in Lower Austria with words such as mountainous or hilly. However, the Austrian winery Gruber Röschitz is trying to express its own beauty with this white wine. We think he succeeded! Culinary tip from Flaschenpöstler: This Chardonnay is ideal to serve with truffles or goat cheese.

Tasting note
The Just Chardonnay impresses with a bright golden yellow. On the nose, it is intensely yellow-fruity with notes of exotic fruits, slight hints of caramel and a subtle oak wood note. The start on the palate is intense and fruity and leads to a juicy palate flow with lots of enamel and extract, a subtle woody note and a lively play of fruit and acidity. A harmonious Chardonnay with lots of power and pleasant freshness.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with hearty starters, white meat, fish and mushroom dishes, seafood and cheese.
Vinification
After the joint project between Siebe Dupf Sommeliers and Bernhard Ernst from Burgenland (Just Zweigelt and Just Cuvée), we also wanted to add a great white wine to the JUST line. Since Bernhard Ernst mainly produces red wines, we have decided to realise this joint production with the friendly Gruber-Röschitz winery in the Weinviertel region. With the 2017 vintage, we have now expanded the Just collection with a wonderful white wine. Together with the Gruber siblings, the Siebe Dupf sommelier team selected the best Chardonnay grapes from Gruber-Röschitz and had them vinified at the winery. The goal was to press a powerful Chardonnay with lots of melts, which can be wonderfully combined with hearty dishes. After a period of maceration, the wine was fermented in large wood and then aged partly in steel tanks and partly in the new 500-liter French oak barrel for about 12 months. This was followed by assemblage and further bottle storage.
