About the wine
The winemaker from the Spanish winery Paco Garcia is absolutely proficient in his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the picturesque and enchanting landscape of the Upper Ebro. Flaschenpöstler tip: Pair this Tempranillo with red meat or pizza.

Tasting note
La Villa delights the nose with its dark berry aromas, accompanied by subtle notes of vanilla and almonds. On the palate, it is full-bodied, extremely aggressive and with tremendous concentration. The perfect structure between fruitiness and barrique influences is reflected in a very long finish. La Villa is a top Rioja that perfectly reflects the elegance and history of the original town of Murillo de Rio Leza.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef — from steaks to stroganoff to tartare or slow-cooked roast from the oven. The perfect accompaniment to the intense roasted aromas of grilled dishes — whether steaks, vegetables or pieces of BBQ. Also excellent with mature hard cheese — from Parmigiano Reggiano to Sbrinz to pecorino or older alpine cheese.
Vinification
The grapes for La Villa, of which around 85% of Tempranillo make up, are harvested extremely selectively and separately and then carefully processed. The wine is aged 24 months in American barrique barrels, followed by a further 24 months in bottle before finally being released for sale.
