About the wine

Longer fermentation gives this wine a stronger character, a darker color and a fuller body. The Matasci company was founded in 1921 by Giuseppe Matasci and Carlo Balemi. Today, the third generation is also involved and thanks to a new expansion in 1987, Matasci is one of the largest producers in Tessin. The Merlot grape variety comes from the Bordeaux region. After years of studies, it was found that Merlot adapts best to the Ticino climate.
