Baron Patrick de Ladoucette has been making wine on both sides of the Loire, in Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé for generations. The grape variety is Sauvignon Blanc. “Baron de L” is only produced in exceptional years. It is extremely elegant and refined - a prime example of a classic, high-quality Loire Sauvignon. No wood is used in the vinification process. The typical Sauvignon aromas (smoke, peppers, gooseberries, grapefruit) are absolutely pure, completely devoid of earthy or green tones, which are often produced when the yield is too high, but also without vanilla or exotic notes from the use of wood.
