About the wine

Consistency, expertise and dedication at the same time! Always being above your own expectations is what Glen Carlou strives for with every bottle of wine. Tasting note
The 100% Single Vineyard Chardonnay is rich in complex aromas of citrus fruits, white peaches, fragrant spices and buttered toast. On the middle palate, tempting and distinctive notes of lime and lemon, green apple, peach and stone fruit develop, which unfold on the middle palate up to a long aftertaste. The subtle minerality on the palate is reminiscent of the quartz soil and subtle minerality in the finish.
Culinary recommendation
Ideal with dishes such as langoustine, scallops, seafood or poultry dishes.
Vinification
The soil of this Chardonnay consists of granite with a significant amount of quartz, hence its name Quartz Stone. The grapes come from the oldest vineyard on Glen Carlou. It was planted in 1989 and exceptional wines are constantly being produced. After harvesting, the grapes are spontaneously fermented in 90% new French wooden barrels and the remaining 10% in Nomblot concrete eggs. Chardonnay is not subjected to malolactic fermentation, so it has a restrained acidity. Aged for 12 months in French wooden barrels.
