Freshly opened, the Gutsrieslings from Knewitz comes across as sparse, smoky and cool, but with a little bit of air, the picture changes quickly. On the nose, peach, mango, grapefruit, plus a touch of lemon balm, ripe pear and some lime. On the palate, wiry yet crumbly texture, delicate chalky touch, chalky smokiness comes through from the ground, lime zest and grapefruit, an exotic with charming creaminess, but finally, the very juicy acidity sets the tone, invigorating and long.
